Division of adult cardiology

UHI as you know it today, started as a simple cardiac clinic at Mulago Hospital in 1958. This journey began when we transitioned from a clinic to a fully-fledged facility i.e Uganda Heart Institute (UHI).

General Information

The team is headed by a Senior Consultant Cardiologist, two consultant Cardiologists and 6 Cardiology fellows who are Physicians training to super specialize in Cardiology.

The Division conducts clinics on daily basis on week days from Monday to Friday with exceptions of public holidays.

In-patients:

Majority of patients admitted at the UHI are adults and various patients are admitted and treated for various cardiac related illnesses. The average length of stay in hospital is 5 days.
